Selected reviews of the work:
"And thank goodness for a serious composer with a sense of humour to go with his sense of rhythm. Volume Pig is a witty, enjoyable, beautiful, soft, loud, rather long piece - just what you'd expect from Farr."
Rod Biss, Sunday Star Times, 6 August 2000
"With Farr's Volume Pig we experienced intricate textures of quadraphonic drumming interspersed with wild shrieks, grunts and howls. Just when we thought we knew what was coming next, the wild volume dropped to a barely audible whisper. Clever theatre - the audience were kept guessing until the last moment."
Wendy Hunt, Hawkes Bay Today, 19 July 2000
